And the Hajj this year was from November 14 to November 18. It was NOT something that could wait for summer vacation. If we assert that it has to wait for summer vacation then we set the precedent that Easter, Christmas, Yom Kippur, Hannukah, and etc. have to wait for summer vacation.

Note: I am just being fair about this, okay?

No.

This idiot teacher can go any time she wants to on this pilgrimage to worship it's moon-god idol. It is not necessary that the trip be made now. As a teacher she onlt has to work 180 days a year anyway. Demanding more time off is just stupid, and typical of the left, which seems to believe that everyone owes them a living.

We all make choices in life that have long term consequences. My husband is a teacher and were he able to start over he would choose a different career. While there are summer breaks (he works in construction) there is NO flexibility during the school year. None. He gets 2 personal days per year, but the administration has to approve the reason for his taking personal days, it isn’t just a “day off.” Doesn’t matter if what is going on (elderly parents needing help, kids’ activities, mission trips, etc.)he absolutely must be at school.

If her religion requires her to take a long trip over a very specific time during the school year, she should have chosen a career that allows for that.

Choices have consequences.

That’s ridiculous. For one thing, she has her entire lifetime to do it, and she also doesn’t have to go during the big pilgrimage season. Ms Muslim just saw an opportunity to get preferential treatment, which is what Islam is all about. And our pro-Muslim government, which would proclaim Islam as the state religion if it thought it could get away with it, agrees.

Muslims go by a lunar calendar which does not sync with the solar calendar. Consequently, their holidays occur a couple of weeks earlier in every following year. The Hajj dates occur in August starting in 2020. Since this is a lifetime rather than yearly requirement, she can wait until she is either no longer employed in that school, or when the date has shifted to when school is not in session.

Alternately, she can transfer to a school that observes Muslim holidays.

If the teacher wanted to take unpaid leave for a couple of days, whats the problem? The school system can’t find a sub for those days? BS... hope she makes 5 million!
