Springfield won’t hold a special election, to replace Mayor Devlin. Mayor pro tempore Ward 3 Ald. Frank Kunz will take over as acting mayor until a new mayor is named within 60 days. Springfield will hold a election for mayor, in 2011. The primary will be on Feb. 22, and the race has four Republicans, two Democrats, and two independents. The top four vote-getters will advance to the general election, which will be held on April 5.
