Dunno what the lefties find objectionable about a bearded guy in a red suit smoking something funny in a pipe. Oh, wait, I get it. He gives away his own stuff.

“So, let us hope that the good sense of the American people will trump the infantile fantasies of teachers, the profit-inspired spinelessness of merchants, and the politically correct madness of the media and certain politicians. In this season of hope let us celebrate Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas and the New Year in the good old-fashioned way. A simple message to all Townhall Readers: Merry Christmas, everyone!”

An empty hope. This will be an unmerry Christmas. May all receive the one true gift of a swift and early death!

Some incidents do seem an effort by the left to wipe out anything that might point toward God, i.e. forcing a city hall to remove a creche that has been there for decades. But I don’t get upset about stores saying “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”. There are other holidays celebrated at this time of year, and the term “Happy Holidays” has been around since at least the 40s. (Ever see Bing Crosby’s “Holiday Inn”?)

What if we had Christmas and no Christians came?

Time for true Christians to boycott the mercenaries who profit from families exchanging gifts.

Celebrate the birth of Christ in the Churches and at home, only.

Buy nothing new - just recycle and regift from your old ‘stuff’. Buy used toys from the Salvation Army for the young ‘uns.

That’ll show ‘em.

I have been saying for years that E. Scrooge (before getting haunted) was a Liberal!

1) He doesn't believe in celebrating Christmas.

2) He won't give to private charity--and he also believes that charity begins and ends with government "poverty programs" (workhouses, prisons, etc.).

3) He believes in "reducing the surplus population."
