A BUS driver has been forced to resign after veering into the wrong lane to flatten a snowman.
The public transit bus can be seen in a YouTube video deliberately crossing on to the wrong side of the road to demolish the sculpture built on a quiet residential road by students.
The incident was filmed on the on the University of Illinois campus in Urbana.

The video starts with a car travelling on the correct side of the road, having to slow down and precariously make its way around the obstacle.

He will be visited by Calvin and Hobbs sometime in the night for revenge.
Kids prank puts snowman in middle of road forcing drivers to unsafely swerve around it
bus driver eliminates the nuisance
why aren’t the kids being held responsible?
driver may have been careless (could have lost control), but he didn’t and he did the community a service — shouldn’t have lost his job
The bus driver removed an object that could have done great harm. That thing could have caused a bad accident.
I don’t know his reason for doing it, but he actually may have saved someone’s life.
Placing crap like that in the center of the road is not funny , it’s dangerous.

This is bizarre. He used his bus to clear a hazard that might have caused a serious accident out of the road, and gets fired for it?
What kind of dufus builds a snowman in the road unless he wants someone to hit it?
I know I would!
OTOH - maybe he was working for C&H, ya think?
I wonder if Laz would hit it...
There must have been some magic in that ol top hat
they found, cause when they put it on his head,
he began to dance around.
Headlice.
I could have been a person in a suit.
While I think the kids that put it there were Jerks, and I’m not sure if the bus had passed previously (seeing that it was truly a snow sculpture), I think that the bus driver shouldn’t have crossed lanes to remove the hazard.
The Snowman is a metaphor for our rights which are being trampled and run over.
Yes, that’s right. . and he had a big enough vehicle to flatten the snowman. Of course, in this day and age, one doesn’t know who has rigged something up to explode. The kids wanted the snowman to be flattened, and it could have caused an accident. I know someone who used to pull pranks like that. He would position mirrors in curves where a car’s headlights would reflect in the mirror and driver would have to swerve to miss the “car” that he thought was coming at him head-on. Very dangerous. This person once piled produce baskets in a pyramid in the middle of the road, and a semi swerved to miss it (middle of night); but the person in question does not see any harm in what he did.
I agree, the bus driver eliminated the nuisance ... and he could clearly see there was nobody in the incoming lane. This is one I just don’t understand at all.
Reinstate the driver with a raise...as for the students? Expel their worthless hides for a few years...they can come back when they grow up...
That bus driver did a service to the community - he/she should get a medal. Most likely drove that route at least once before and probably saw the darn thing being built - hit it and get it out of the way...
