The Ethanol Idiocy that Will Not Die
Bipartisan common sense is no match for the inertia of a government subsidy.
When Al Gore drops an environmental fad, it has truly reached its expiration date.
In his wisdom, the Goracle recently acknowledged what almost all disinterested observers concluded long ago: Ethanol is a fraud. It has no environmental benefits, and harmful side effects. The subsidies that support its use are an object lesson in the incorrigibility of Washington’s gross special-interest politics. It is the monster that ate America’s corn crop.

I put gasoline that was 10% ethanol into my Jeep today. Ten minutes later, and while trying to climb a 6% grade, the engine started cutting out, something that it has never done before.
Agri-Business is a huge lobby. We’ll be subsidizing ethanol until the collapse.
I can only get ethanol free gas at a local marina. It costs extra but works in my outboard. I hate ethanol fuel. It messes up the motor.
People who have boats tend to leave the fuel for a while before using the boat again. In this while the ethanol seems to seek water. Probably condensation in the tank, but if you do not use the fuel in a short period of time, pour it out because you have water in it.
A friend in the business.told me to stop using ethanol in the weed whacker and any other air cooled engine as it damages the engines.
He said that gas with ethanol starts to go bad in 30 days and is bad in 60.
It is awful. It is worth the extra to get pure gas. It will destroy your motor.
The people who get the subsidy have paid their politicians to keep it.
