The issue with the lake is that over half of it is in Mexico so it is really hard to make it safe.
Sorry but that is just nonsense. We have the technology to determine the border on water and we sure as heck have the firepower to kill a few dozen drug goons.
Kill several dozen and the lake would become much safer I would bet...
If you don't believe that just go walleye fishing on Lake Erie and see what happens if you cross the line into Canada. You'd better have both a passport and a Canadian fishing license or you're in trouble!
