Citizen, Class Warrior, Florida School Board Gunman...and Good Humanist
American Thinker ^ | December 16, 2010 | Selwyn Duke

In the film The Devil's Advocate, Satan poses as a powerful attorney bent on undermining man through the law. When he finally reveals himself to the main character toward the movie's end, he delivers a self-adulatory monologue during which he proudly states, "I'm a fan of man. I'm a humanist. Maybe the last humanist."

Speaking of devilish actions, by now most Americans have heard of Clay Duke (no relation!), the gunman who opened fire at a Panama City, Florida school board meeting. We know that he was upset about his wife's dismissal from a district job and that he wanted to exact revenge on those he deemed responsible. We also know that no innocents were harmed and that the only fatality was Duke himself, who, after being wounded by a brave security guard, died by his own hand.

What few know, however, is that Duke revealed that he had the philosophical foundation of what we today call "leftism": On his Facebook page, he listed his religion as "Humanism."

There's a great refutation of atheism in this piece.

Well when you raise man to the pinnacle of all existence, it`s easy to place yourself at the very top, and that may be the underlying reason for all the dysfunction of the Humanist left.

If Duke was a humanist, I guess we know where he is now (and for eternity).

I have argued that same point with atheists many times. Most often they are not intellectually honest enough to agree that atheism has only artificial boundaries.

I’ve seen it claimed that the Facebook page was a hoax. I don’t believe one way or another on this, haven’t seen anything definitive, I’m just saying watch out.

Christian ethics: Thou shalt not kill.

Humanist ethics: Thou shalt not kill...ordinarily.

My tagline tells you all you need to know about “humanists”.

Atheists cannot and do not live consistently with their claimed worldview.

They judge some things as “right” and “wrong”.
But their really can’t be a “right” or “wrong” without an objective, extra-human defined standard.
Because otherwise, “right” and “wrong” are simply opinions, and one human’s opinion cannot be any “better” than another’s without appealing to an objective standard.

Atheists’ favorite bible verse is “Judge not lest ye be judged”, but are too stupid to realize that THEY are the ones judging, not me. You see, I don’t have to judge whether something is right or wrong, God has already made those decisions. However, atheists have to judge EVERY law and rule to determine if the believe the law is right or wrong.

Also, if you are an atheist, then you believe that humans are nothing but animals. Highly evolve, but still animals. I ask them, can a mouse or bird be evil? Of course not, they say. Then I ask, are we not just animals?

Has conservatism gotten so weak as to be unable to envision many possibilities?

Wow.

The “taste” agument is so hollow and easily shattered. How about one possibility...that some “morality” is instinctual, born out of batural selection? Therefore, thee’s more than “personal taste” as a possibility.
