Franklin Graham: Palin's Compassion Touched Haitians' Hearts

Sarah Palin’s visit to the earthquake-ravaged Haiti showed she is not “afraid to get her hands dirty,” says the Rev. Franklin Graham. The former Alaska governor is a “woman of strong principle and no question she has a strong faith in God,” the son of renowned evangelist Billy Graham said during a Newsmax.TV interview in which he discussed his hosting her Haitian visit......

...The former GOP vice-presidential candidate “has tremendous compassion for people, she loves people, and she cares deeply about people,” Graham said. “She was an encouragement not only to the staff and to the relief workers (but) even to the Haitian people who didn’t know her,” Graham said.

“She came in with her smile. She would sit on the cots. Now, you have to understand a cholera clinic, these cots have been soaked in urine, and fecal matter, and vomit. Cholera is a horrible thing, and she just sat right there in the middle of it, holding peoples’ hands, talking to people, holding babies, it was an amazing thing. She’s quite a lady and not afraid to get her hands dirty.”....

.....As for Graham’s appraisal of Palin, he said: “When you read her book ‘Going Rogue,’ she gives a testimony on how she gave her life to God. And the last page of her book ‘Going Rogue,’ she mentions or says to the reader if you haven’t done what I’ve done, I encourage you to do it. And she invites a person to invite God into their heart, their life. I’ve seen the governor on a number of occasions and no question her faith is a big part of her life — that’s who she is. She’s a believer in Jesus Christ, a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, that’s just her makeup. It’s her DNA.”

A strong, sincere Christian. No wonder the left hates her.

Sarah has dealt with PDS which is worse than anything a cholera clinic could throw at her.

Gov Palin is a person that the more one learns and see of her the more they like her. Very unheard of in a politician. Those that have turned away from God react to her like a vampire to a cross.

Well said...There are some here that should read this but maybe they'd just say it was a photo op for Franklin Graham too. Many, many here know it wasn't.

True. Evil is worse than sickness. Some say PDS is a sickness but IMO its evilness; because it has no other rhyme nor reason. Just hate.

This doesn’t really surprise me at all. She is indeed a woman of strong faith, which is what we need if we want a politician with a moral compass that can be trusted.

And, no, this wasn’t Sarah’s idea of a photo op. I presume that she had the opportunity to meet with Franklin Graham, and that he invited her to come along on a trip he had already planned. It was Graham’s idea, not hers, although she was glad to have the experience of going with him on such a charitable visit.

I think its more the sexists that hate her on FR. Not all but enough have shown they don’t like her because she is a woman and no other reason.

Very nice. Thanks for posting.

She does have a lovely smile, and sometimes when you’re really, really sick, it helps a lot to get that (particularly knowing that the person is actually doing something to try to help you).

Haiti’s big problem is political, but that’s not going to change until the US government changes. Clinton has major business dealings with the corrupt Marxists in Aristide’s party, as well as dealings with his family and that of Preval, and the US is so leftist-slanted that we are completely ignoring the Haitians’ complaints about their election, which was obviously stolen by the left.

But unless they get a major change in their government, nothing is every going to improve for Haitians.

Fortunately the portion of FR that has PDS is small, actually fairly infinitesimal.

Unfortunately, they are loud, post often, and are obnoxious, making them feel and seem like there are a lot of them....

Haiti is a classic example that capitalists can and should use to show what happens when man's ability to provide for their families is taken away and instead man becomes wards of the state.

Still it is not the people's fault like you say but those in power....

Palin family tithe 10% of their own income. Wonder how much they helped raise in addition to that for Samaritan’s Purse?
