Federal Examiners Say Religious Decoration Inappropriate Federal Reserve examiners come every four years to make sure banks are complying with a long list of regulations. The examiners came to Perkins last week. And the team from Kansas City deemed a Bible verse of the day, crosses on the tellers counter and buttons that say "Merry Christmas, God With Us." were inappropriate. The Bible verse of the day on the bank's Internet site also had to be taken down.
I dont think there should be a problem with them displaying whatever religious symbols they want to display, said Amy Weierman, a Perkins resident.
Specifically, the feds believed, the symbols violated the discouragement clause of Regulation B of the bank regulations. According to the clause, "...the use of words, symbols, models and other forms of communication ... express, imply or suggest a discriminatory preference or policy of exclusion."
The feds interpret that to mean, for example, a Jew or Muslin or atheist may be offended and believe they may be discriminated against at this bank. It is an appearance of discrimination.
But customers Eyewitness News 5 talked to said they arent buying it.
This is just ridiculous, said bank customer Jim Nyles. This whole thing is just ridiculous. We all have regulatory bodies that govern us. But this is too much.
I think thats absurd, said Chelsi Holser, a bank customer. I dont agree with it at all. They are taking Christ out of Christmas and life.
The bank is quietly fighting for a clearer interpretation of the clause. Officials have contacted their two U.S. legislators, Rep. Frank Lucas and Sen. Jim Inhoffe, and the Oklahoma Bankers Association to help.

Just say NO and force the Issue.
Besides, these pukes were pretending their were Moslems and I know that one's not in the book anywhere.
It’s time to get rid of the federal reserve.
Private businesses are (or should be) able to discriminate against whomever they choose.
People will respond however they choose.
At some point, the federal government and it’s policies will have become bigger enemies of the American people than enemies foreign. What happens when that time comes will be interesting to observe.
But the day will come when the feds try to ram Sharia law down our throats, referencing the koran and allahu akbar - no questions asked.
Understand that in the BIG picture, it’s Christianity vs “the world” and its current ruler.
That’s why you see this so-called hypocrisy when it comes to religion.
Everything in the world is going to be against Christ.
Figuring all foreign countries as at least competitors, and not to say that literal "enemy" countries, such as the leadership of North Korea or Iran, are the measuring stick, I'd say the federal government grew past that stage about 80 or 90 years ago. Not that the parasites want to "kill" the people, but the feds sure do aim to control as much as possible (under the public radar, preferably), while milking the cream for the elite political class.
“At some point...”
That point done come and went.
Wonderful regulation by the Fed!! Now, since the federal government has passed the Safe Food bill, we can likewise regulate restaurants. No more Kosher or Halal food. Get rid of those divisive ham and cheese sandwiches. No more pulled pork BBQ. On into the brave new world.
Tell them to go fed themselves.
Big Brudder
How can an agency that isn’t an agency of the US have such a deep reach into society to where it cares not for community but only on imposing sameness for the sake of “rules” made up to strip freedom, not protect it..?
No, the examiners (unlawfully) demanded, and the bank complied. Way to go, Uncle Billy.
So the Federal Reserve can tell a private business not to display Bible verses on their website, no crosses in their facilities and no mention of Merry Christmas during Christmas?
No doubt the Fed is an abomination that should have never come into existence and as Jefferson stated represents a greater threat than a foreign standing army at our shores; but, ultimately the Fed is just another of Satan’s lackeys in an all out assault against the only Hope and Redeemer of mankind.
Satan is now at work in an increasingly brazen manner as all pretense is cast aside.
When I was a kid, we went TO the Bank to get Christmas candy and see Santa!
I really think that time has come.
I think that’s the way to handle that. If they say NO...do it anyway. Tell ‘em mine their own business.
“Tell them to go fed themselves.”
Exactly ,enough of this.
Rev 12:12
Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.
