I am writing this letter to you because you, as a young general with the capability to think freshly, must place a check on your father's irrational behavior. Your father is hastening the collapse of the North Korean regime although he insists that he is trying to defend it.

A very good letter — which will fall upon deaf ears in the North, I’m afraid.

And now, marvel as I attempt to teach a pig to sing...

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

Richardson is certainly not in a better position than Dai Bingguo or Asst. Secretary of State James Steinberg to try to move the NKs. Steinberg has been in Beijing the last 3 days trying to get movement.

Just for balance, McCain arrives in Seoul on Sunday to try to cool off the SKs.

Dai was all over the place, SK, NK, Japan, etc. trying to create an agreement for "controlled confrontation" by all the parties, understanding that NK will act up again. I am not optimistic, if NK attacks again, the SK government is gone if it doesn't attack and exterminate the NK regime.

This is the tensest I have ever seen Korea. We will see by next Wednesday. The Russians are out of it, plugging their ears, bringing up troops, and sealing their border with NK.
