DURHAM, N.C. -- A woman who authorities said falsely accused three Duke University lacrosse players of rape four years ago has been found guilty by a North Carolina jury of misdemeanor child abuse and damaging property.

Karma.
Or - given time a person’s true personality shines through.
But we all knew that from the get go.
Yet the judge gave her kids back to her.
What ever happened to the prosecutor in the lacrosse case?
Nah, the Duke rapes and subsequent character assassination destroyed her faith in society and caused what amounts to post traumatic stress syndrome. She’s not responsible for her actions.
At least that will be the Left’s take on it. Wait for it.
What a sweetie.
Here is her non-updated conviction record:
This is not her first child abuse conviction. If they haven’t taken her kids now, they never will.
I don’t know. I saw him at Duke Hospital a couple of years ago. His mother was having surgery the same day as my wife.
PING!
First, she is obviously not too intelligent.
Second, I am surprised she didn't say a white guy came in and set the clothes on fire.
Agreed. Those poor kids.
The last I heard he was dis-barred by the State and relieved of his duties as prosecutor. Dunno what happened to him after that—probably spent a lot of time in court testifying in the flood of lawsuits surrounding the “incident”.
Nifong was disbarred.
Don’t think he ever saw jail time, but I believe the disbarment, along with all the civil suits have left him ~ and subsequently his family ~ for broke.
That guy would have sent those boys to jail to rot, and you know why; because all those boys were sons of privilege, they all came from “wealthy” families.
Can you imagine someone being hated for being wealthy?
I think that the death penalty is too good for her.
LLS
Reminds me of Eddie Murphy’s “Velvet Jones” “Be a ho” bit.
And Ice T’s “Always wanted to be a ho”
Everyday. Tax breaks for the rich. Evil rich people are destroying the middle class.
He spent a day in jail. The players’ civil suit is still going forward, though Nifong is more or less bankrupt.

On August 31, 2007, [Judge] Smith held Nifong in criminal contempt of court, and sentenced him to one day in jail and a $500 fine.[2].
On September 7, 2007, Nifong reported to the Durham County jail to serve a one-day jail sentence for contempt of court. He was held alone in a cell for his protection.[86]
THAT was inexcusable. Duke would have to pack up and move before I'd even consider sending a kid to school there. One possibility which has been suggested would be Emporia Va.
I don’t know why you’d insult Emporia by subjecting it to Duke. :)
I’ve lived here in Durham since the start of 2007, and I’m not surprised that Nifong got re-elected. The county has a large black population and is completely, totally, and utterly dominated by racist blacks and their guilty liberal academic enablers. Parts of Durham are complete no-go areas regardless of your skin color due to crime, the city continues to raise taxes despite a recession, and yet the same usual suspects get re-elected because of their skin color and the (D) by their name.
The only thing that’s kept this area from descending into being the Detroit of North Carolina is the massive jobs engine of Research Triangle Park, and the fact that Duke (the county’s biggest employer) is a steady and mostly recession-proof source of jobs and tax base. In a climate like this, it’s totally unsurprising to me that somebody like Crystal Mangum could’ve gotten the traction she did on her charges, or that Mike Nifong would’ve run with them to get re-elected...the black population would love seeing three “rich white kids from up north” get railroaded, and the whackjob professors in their ivory towers would love seeing “privileged athletes” get railroaded.
I promise you this, Mike Nifong could try to run for county DA again and he’d get no less than 30 percent of the vote. And the only reason he’d lose is because he didn’t get a conviction against the lacrosse players.
