Don’t we already have a law that ‘fast tracks’ the citizenship of legal permanent residents serving in the military? Did this bill address that issue at all?

All they get is a permanent green card. They have to go through the process like everyone else, learn American history, speak English, etc. That's OK but they ought to be expedited on paperwork and interviews just like veteran's are in hiring practices.

The Mexican citizens that are Marines would be fluent in English and likely easily qualify on education. The delay is that they can't start much of the citizenship process until they are honorably discharged.

If they have met all the education requirements they ought to be sworn in as citizens the day they finish their Marine contract.
