It would have happened one of these days. With the way the younger generation, hopped up on NEA propaganda, thinks about queers and queer marriage all of this is all but inevitable. Doesn’t make it easy to swallow though.

Mods, I personally do not want to see this thread pulled, but the decision will be yours and not mine. I walk away now, have something else I must do, I tried. If this thread fails to stay up because of standards, this will be a loss.

So, next is the modification of the UCMJ to legalize sodomy.

I`m glad Gens. Patton, Eisenhower, MacArthur, et al aren`t alive to see this.

"We are on the verge of ending 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' for good," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said after the vote "This is one of those moments in our history when we stepped up and squared our policies with the values this nation was founded upon."

WTF???? Our nation was founded on gay rights? Pardon the french, but BS!!!!!!!!!!!

The political class pushing this absurdity almost without exception never served in the U.S. military. Obama never, Reid never, Pelosi, of course, never. Robert Gates served in the USAF as an intelligence officer stateside for two years. This was during the Vietnam War 1967-1969.
As a former Marine I find this profoundly disturbing, this in short time, will undermine the quality of front line fighting units, whether it be the Marine Corps or Army. If some young Marine takes exception to someone patting him on the butt, or has to tolerate a late night tryst between two or more fags two bunks down from him in the squad bay ... and punches someone out ... the straight Marine will be brought up on charges that will be amplified by the fact he punched out a perverted but privileged minority.

I didn’t know the founding fathers’s values were open homosexuality....

Dr. Carle Zimmerman in 1947 wrote a book called Family and Civilization. He studies the decline of several civilizations and empires. He discovered eight patterns of domestic behavior that signaled the decline of a civilization:

1. The breakdown of marriage and rise of divorce.

2. The loss of the traditional meaning of the marriage ceremony.

3. The rise of Feminism.

4. Increased public disrespect for parents and authority in general.

5. Acceleration of juvenile delinquency, promiscuity and rebellion.

6. Refusal of people with traditional marriages to accept their family responsibilities.

7. A growing desire for and acceptance of adultery.

8. Increasing interest in and spread of sexual perversions (homosexuality) and sex-related crimes.

Only 33 Republican senators voted against cloture on DADT. That is just a simple vote, which doesn't require any conviction.

How many Republican senators were willing to put their reputations on the line to pull a Bernie Sanders and run out the clock on this monsrosity?

Not one Republican senator had the courage to do the right thing. Not one Republican senator would do what most Freepers would do in a heartbeat.

Once again, we have seen the whites of their eyes, and they are not conservatives. None of those senators are principled conservatives. They are fair weather friends.

We must remember this when they resume mouthing platitudes.

They will tell us that they traded their vote for a win on some other issue, like the DREAM Act or the tax act or something else. Don't believe it. This is just crass pandering on their part.

Think about it: which special interest group made out in the lame duck session? The Gays. What does that tell us about the priorities of Republican senators?

I was wrong on DADT being passed. A few weeks ago the GOP was certain that they could stop it. They said that it would never make it to the floor. They were wrong, and I was wrong. It looks as if it is going to be passed with the help of the RINOs. Never in the debate was the real issue mentioned, namely whether or not homosexual behavior is immoral. Instead, the debate has been about unit cohesiveness and fighting ability. The issue of WHY it was detrimental was never addressed.

Well if i state what I wanted to truly say I would be banned from FR. My tagline I have had to change because the moderator did not like it.

having been a Marine, this is going to cause trouble in the military if it passes. Notice a republican whom voted Scott Brown All I can say is Brown is a RINO, and he is yellow and he fits right into the new Democrat Logo. It reminds me of the toilet. Yellow let it mellow and Brown goes down. brown has no backbone and no cahhones (sp).

So, if they can pass this, what would be wrong with coed showers in the military?

Years ago, when I was younger and — argueably — more foolish than now, I loved a lady. We had a young daughter and had started another child. I was looking forward with happy anticipation to that second child but my lady was not. Instead, she saw that child as an embarassment to be avoided so she chose to abort it. Of course, I had no say in the matter — the father never does — so I sat at home with our daughter, watching the clock and waiting.

Since then, I have learned of a man and a woman whose son was condemned to death for a terrible murder. They too sat home, watching the clock and dying inside. I think I know how they must have felt.

Today I sat at my computer, watching the vote in the Senate with much the same feeling of dread and overwhelming sadness at the impending doom of our country.

Oh, I know that the end of DADT won’t kill America but with the Healthcare monstrosity, which will never be repealed, only “modified”, plus all the lesser bills, rules and regulations already in the pipeline to “fundamentaly change America”, the greatest country in the history of the world will, within a generation, be reduced to third-world status alongside such luminaries as Kenya, Bangladesh and Haiti. By that point we may be reduced to asking for aid from the likes of France and Italy.

I think I’ve lived too long.
