Why would they block the DREAM act, but press on for the gays? Is it possible that the gays have more power than we ever imagined? I want to see the list of the R’s who bent over for this.

Bingo. Go back and look at the roll call for each piece of legislation. Another astute Freeper mentioned on the live thread that DREAM yes votes were probably traded for DADT yes votes.

This vote to move DADT into Senate for passage is nothing more than the group with the most money and power winning.

For all the work so many of us did, what did we really gain in the November elections? I am really starting to wonder...

The GOP traded their tax cuts for this repeal. Of course they can’t declare that openly. Also, there were a number of democrats who voted against the DREAM act, making it a non-starter.
