"I would like to see Speaker Boehner do his duty to investigate the constitutional issues and I would like to see Obama use his power to grant this guy some sort of discretionary relief from his sentence."

When pigs fly, we've seen what the republican party is made of. If you forgot, just review the last week. Barely even a whimper.

Well, in January, aside from Obama, Speaker Boehner will the only person who has the power to resolve these constitutional questions. With a wave of his hand, he could order that the relevant documents in Hawaii be subpoened and produced. No fuss, no muss.

If Speaker Boehner does not take that small step, I will wonder why. Is he afraid of the facts that would be revealed?

More specifically, is he afraid that he might find out that Obama is not constitutionally qualified, which might require an impeachment inquiry?

Or, is he afraid that he might find out that Obama is constitutionally qualified?

I don't know the answers to any of those questions, but I would very much like to see Speaker Boehner solve the mysteries with a simple subpoena. He's the only hope left. If he doesn't act, history will record that folks like me are just a bunch of poor losers and cranks who can't accept defeat or reality.
