Exactly - I make ‘emergency bag's for my grandkids for their cars. MOST crucial up here in the winter.

a blanket and a space blanket, a candle in a glass, mittens, wool socks, hat, cup and bouillon cubes, can of nuts, jug of water, matches, wind-up flashlight. Getting stranded on a highway - I have been - or sliding off into a ditch...be prepared.

Should have a small emergency kit when flying too - taking into consideration what kind of ground you're flying over and what you might need ‘down there.”

Ditto - I’m a private pilot and I carry my emergency stuff in a vest with lots of pockets. Don’t want to scramble for a backpack if I had to crawl out of a wreck. My stuff is with me.

Probably add a small fold up stove and heat tabs to boil water, not too sure of a candle unless maybe what they call plumber candles - short and fat. In my packs I have four small plastic bottles of water and small serving pull-open cans of Vienna sausage and pork& beans enough for a couple of days. Gun shows are great to find survival stuff.
