Barney Frank: Death Tax Not Punishment; Heirs Didn’t Do Anything to Deserve Inheritance
breitbart ^

Posted on 12/19/2010 6:11:19 PM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Mr. Frank's attitude seems to be that Americans need to justify why they should keep the money they inherit instead of the government needing to justify why they should be allowed to confiscate it.

Government didn’t do anything to earn it either.

Taxes aren’t punishment?
Not even the gas tax?
The Tobacco tax?
The income tax?

Barney Frank represents some of the STUPIDEST VOTERS in our country.

No Bawney you freak of nature. But the person who died worked their @$$ off for the money and they therefore have the right to leave it to whom they choose.

Another reason why my coin collection is only worth “10,000” dollars, and I keep about 4000 in my checking account at any given time.

It is not as common today as in my parents generation but children sometimes do earn their inheritance. They worked like slaves on farms etc.

Either the heirs get the inheritance -OR- the government TAKES IT..
WHY? does the government deserve it?..
Why does the gov't deserve ANY OF IT at all?..

Mr. Frank obviously, and clearly, believes that nobody has the right to do as he or she damn well pleases with the money he or she earns---whether giving it to their children or to whomever---even after the State (let's quit deluding ourselves that we have a government) lays its first claim upon its arbitrarily-decided percentage of what the indivdual earns.

He exposes himself more profoundly every time he opens his mouth.

And if he really believes taxation is not punishment, or attempted behaviour modification, he certainly doesn't pay a great deal of attention to the bulk of the non-income taxes that are imposed. (As it is, tt would be a waste of breath, probably, to try impressing upon him the implicitly punitive nature of the income tax.)

If I had one more day to live, and I found out I had to give all I had to the government, I would figure out how to transfer my money to my children under the table or simply burn it all.

The heirs likely had a lot more to do with growing the inheritance than the government ever did. Fact is, the government took their pound of flesh every year. Why do they need more?

And, then, there are the wishes of the person who created the estate. He had a choice of giving it to his heirs or the government. He chose his heirs. Why are his wishes not respected?

Wow. For a guy who likes his privacy, he sure seems to think he knows about everyone else’s family and business and how they should be run!

What a thieving little bastard.

Barney! A citizen’s earned wealth is not for the state to confiscate upon their death! The government should be doing everything to protect a citizen’s right and to honor their last wills, not thwarting them and robbing a family of the fruits of their labor!
