Haverford County - no special rights for homosexuals

A Pennsylvania county has turned down a motion to enforce special rights for homosexuals.

The issue was brought to the Haverford Township board after one homosexual described an incident that took place last summer, as well as one that occurred 20 years ago, in which he claims he was harassed. Diane Gramley of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania tells OneNewsNow that both sides of the debate pressured the board as it considered the so-called "anti-discrimination" ordinance, which would include "sexual orientation and gender identity or expression" language that would affect employment, housing, commercial property, and public accommodation.

"They looked at the ordinance, and they decided...[in] a vote of 5-4, to table the ordinance," Gramley reports. But "the main commissioner, who is leading the charge, has vowed that he will reintroduce the ordinance come January -- so we'll see."

The primary argument against the proposal suggests that responsibility rests with the legislature, not a local governing body, to deal with the issue. The AFA of Pennsylvania also drew attention to the understated costs that Doylestown, another town in the state, had to endure after passing a similar measure.

"Our contention is that it advocates a dangerous lifestyle; it would be validating the homosexual lifestyle," Gramley adds.

But what has encouraged her is the loud voice that activists who oppose special rights for homosexuals have made against the proposal.

KEYWORDS: homosexuals; perverts
Long past time to slap the homosexual lobby in their perverted faces. It's going to take more than one county, however.

Good start, but Haverford is not a county, just one small township.

I grew up in small town Missouri, my high school senior class (1963) only had 30 students, yes, I can proudly say that I graduated in the top 30 of my class.

To get to my point however. No one knew of any known homosexuals the whole time I was in school. There was one kid who seemed a little effeminate and we had our suspicions but he did go to the proms and dances with a girl.

Many years later, I found out that he was openly homosexual and living with another man in another state, I wasn’t shocked to learn of it but my point is that “back in the day”, queers had the good sense to shut up about it. I yearn for those days.

After all, how many of us normal people go around shouting about our heterosexuality and wanting special rights and considerations because of it?

FYI, for any Hoosiers here, he’s living in Indianapolis, Indiana and his name is Leon. If you run ito him tell him Graybeard says, Hey! He was a nice guy, probably still is except for that perversion thing he’s got going.
