Austin TX is building a 3,000 acre solar power farm about 20 miles NW of the city proper. Austin Energy asked how many people would buy power from that industry for almost twice the price of regular coal, nuke, gas, hydro plants and had almost no takers. So much for Austin being green.

In Florida the FPL (Florida Power & Light) built a solar plant over in Tampa and then had the audacity to send me a request if I wanted to contribute to their 'green' project. Needless to say it went straight into my trusty shredder esp since I always knew it was just to salve the conscience of their enviro-wackos customers who has more dollars than sense!!

We have a couple of federal buildings at work that are supposed to be 100% solar powered, but then on overcast days like today, they have to switch to regular utilities.
