This wasn't a pit. Your daughter was not in danger. And, to the best of my knowledge, you are not a trained officer of the law carrying a primary weapon and at least one back up like a tazer or pepper spray.

Condescend much? You stated people shouldn’t take action to defend themselves against aggressive dogs while they’re on their owner’s property. You’re wrong.
I’m not a cop ... but do carry a sidearm (and sopmetimes a backup). I would shoot an attacking dog that appeared unconfined ... even if it was still on the owner’s property. Like I said, I don’t know that this is one of those cases — but it might’ve been.
