A $10,000 statue of Jesus at the only Roman Catholic Church in La Marque (mark) has been vandalized with slogans including "Who dis?"

Police are searching for those responsible for the damage discovered Sunday on the statue at the entrance to Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church.

The Galveston County Daily-News reported Monday that parishioners discovered the markings of what appear to be two cross-like drawings and a message stating the statue was not Jesus. Some markings are on the forehead of the statue bought by church members about a year ago.

It’s sad when you have so much time on your hands the only thing you can think of doing is marking a Jesus statue.

Somebody needs to watch their kids.

Yeah, I'm thinking teenagers, too.

Even worse, might be an inside job by a less than reverent member (or two) of the congregation. Those markings didn't take that long to apply.

Sickening.

If their parents find them out—they should make the kids clean all the steps with a toothbrush and edge the entire grounds with blunt tipped pre-school scissors.
