Jesse is talking about how blacks have been brainwashed into wanting to "take back what was taken from them" supposedly. As they got pushier and pushier, whites started caving in and putting blacks in positions they shouldn't have been in....ergo....President Obama!

New autobiography "Up From the Projects!". Walter is on the board of BOND. Jesse didnt' know Walter was born in the projects. But he says living in the projects in the 40' was nothing like the projects today. His father deserted them when he was very young. THey were the exception to the rule then, now it is exactly the opposite.
Jesse asks what caused the change. Walter says welfare state. It effectively destroyed the family. Illegitemately is 70% today. During slavery most black kids lived in 2 parent households...I didn't know that. In harlem in 1925 85% lived in 2 pjarent families, but today in Harlem you would be pressed to find 10% iln 2 parent families.
THey are discussing the language now, 'baby mama' etc.
AT 17 he met his dad, and it was a big moment in his life. His father gave him a graduation present. This was in the Compton, CA, and he saw black people making it, working, having families. LOL if he could see Compton now!

Jesse asks when he met his father was he angry at him? jWalter says no. NO reason, his mother never talked about his father. His mother started dating a childhood sweetheart who acted as his father and taught him valuable lessons.
Jesse asks why is Sowell and Williams are so relatively unknown among black people. THey represent accountablity. It might not be your fault that you are down on the ground, but it is your duty to get up! LOL
What does success mean to him? WAlter says he's worked hard and tried to help people. He got a whole lot of help along the way. Be packed when the opportunity train comes along! LOL
