Tailgunner Joe was a drunk and a shameless showboat who set back the anti-Communism cause. Otherwise, he was right. There were (and are) Communists in the U.S. Government.
(Maybe I misremember, but didn’t Joe go after The Army and The State Department? Others went after Hollywood).

Well if Joe was wrong about anything it was he grossly underestimated the number of communists in the State Department and again thanks to the left, the state department is still a haven for communists waiting for the progressives and their useful idiots to collapse the system so they can step right in without firing a shot.
It is amazing the hollywierd types that still rail against Joe when it was HUAC not the senate but the leftest scum in Hollywood are not that sophisticated as to understand the difference.
