Did you not read Poundstone’s post???? He was deployed to Afghanistan for 8 months, and you DARE to call him a whiny overpaid, under worked federal employee????
Do you federal employee bashers not realize that there are many civilian DoD employees that deploy alongside the active duty force. There are thousands more that work hard to provide the active force the logistics they need.
Many DoD civilians are putting their lives on the line just like the military, and people like you think these federal employees are getting some sort of a free ride? Get a clue!
Thanks, CitizenUSA.
8 whole months, eh? I have a friend who just got back from his 3rd 11 month tour in Iraq. There's a poster here who's been in Baghdad for over 5 years.
Hanging on the apron strings of the regular military, eh? You all are sick puppies.
There’s plenty of civilian non-government folks traveling the world and working in or near war-zones. They get no “Droit de Seigneur” first rights (the government’s right to tax, to seize, jail and fine upon non-payment) to the dear money and wealth the rest of us own, inherit or otherwise have garnered.
Lavish pensions granted a few years work, especially those that allow double or triple dipping, beggar us all — and the military, the pensions, all the damn privileges granted veterans, are used as both the wedge and the cudgel to force us private citizens into compliance in being peons in servitude to the Federal and governmental classes — the military, the uniformed, the bureaucrats.
You make me sick.
I wasn’t referring to his deployment in Afghanistan. I was referring to the article he recommended that featured Federal employees and public employee union officials whining about how tough it is for government employees and how they are victims of unfair attacks.
