For some, saw palmetto already does that.

I've read that before. I even took the stuff for a couple of years, along with the rest of my daily supplements, in the hope that it would at least slow down my hair loss. It may have helped, but I really don't know.

There's a product called Crinagen I tried that really did help.

Propecia is a great drug to significantly slow down hair loss, but I don't think it's all that great at growing hair. I do know it's a lot easier to keep the hair you have than it is to grow it back once it's gone. I started taking propecia and using Nizoral shampoo every other day and it pretty much completely stopped my hair loss. If you are serious about it you should use those products along with Rogaine(Minoxidil), although I find rogaine too messy to deal with since I don't have a bald spot, but overall thinning. Propecia, Rogaine, and Nizoral shampoo have all shown to be effective for male pattern baldness. Drugs like Avodart should work as well though. I know Saw Palmetto is suppose to work similar to Propecia, but I don't know if that's ever been proven so I think it's best to go with the prescription medication.
