Only about $2.78 here in Biloxi/Gulfport. Unfortunately, I drive an old diesel Mercedes and that’s around $3.10.

Why is there no uproar? One, because oil is only “big oil” when a republican is in the white house. And two, the media wouldn’t report it if there was an uproar.

Re. fuel prices and big spending on government employees...
Facts about Sarah Palin (my title) Via Email | Unknown | [Not unknown. Here it is.]
Dewie Whetsell, Alaskan Fisherman
Posted on Sun 11 Oct 2009 01:18:45 AM MST by Neil E. Wright
"
2 - Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So, she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called "ACES". Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them "don't let the door hit you in the stern on your way out." They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar."
TRANSCRIPT: Sarah Palin's RNC Speechhttp://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2074322/posts
This was the spirit that brought me to the governors office when I took on the old politics as usual in Juneau, when I stood up to the special interests, and the lobbyists, and the Big Oil companies, and the good-old boys...When oil and gas prices went up dramatically and filled up the state treasury, I sent a large share of that revenue back where it belonged: directly to the people of Alaska. And despite fierce opposition from oil company lobbyists, who kind of liked things the way that they were, we broke their monopoly on power and resources. As governor, I insisted on competition and basic fairness to end their control of our state and return it to the people.

extra, "early funding for [public] education" (Alaska State).

I'm not happy with either Democrats (of course) or Republicans. Both are in the pockets of communist-sympathizing free traitors, who have too many relatives in government employment. There's nothing conservative about that.

And both Democrats and Republicans pass too much spending and too many anti-business regulations in their own locales (see zoning laws against small manufacturing starts on large acreages in remote areas).

If we had any leaders worthy of the name, they'd be as angry as the rest of us. Why is gas so expensive? Because of our.... "leaders". They are purposely devaluing the dollar, in order to extend their ability to spend money that doesn't belong to them in the first place.
They refuse to allow Americans to drill for American oil in American waters and on American soil... but gladly lease the same to foreigners. They allow our enemies (all of whom - save Canada - seem to be swimming in oil for some reason) to dictate our foreign policy. They impose taxes and regulations that destroy incentives for rational energy production while pushing unprofitable public expenditures (misnamed "investments") on solar and wind power.
If I didn't know better, I'd think our own government was trying to destroy our nation. But I don't know any better - because the truth presents itself openly whereas lies often require creative elaboration.

Fuel Taxes
The 18th amendment to the Washington State Constitution dedicates motor fuel tax collections to highway purposes”. Revenue generated from the gas tax is distributed to counties, cities and state accounts. The state receives about half of the total revenues collected. These are the funds which support the WSDOT highway programs as well as the Washington State Ferry System, which is deemed a state highway system by constitution. Highway construction, maintenance, preservation, administration and debt service on highway construction bonds are all funded by these revenues.
The other half of the fuel tax revenues are distributed directly to cities, counties and other agencies for roadway programs that are not part of the state highway system.

Says they aren’t receiving their 50% of this gas tax money....hmmm where is it going?
If you have information where the counties sock away this money that the State of Washington is giving directly to cities and counties for “Road Programs” (defined??)
Stevens County references this chapter that includes bike paths etc http://apps.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=36.81.121
Maybe you are right. I believe the Constitutional Amendment only affected the money that the State Spends though.

East Asia, with manufacturing increasing over the past several years, is consuming more fuel despite claims since the middle of 2007 that the opposite would happen with our lack of personal borrowing and spending. Here, in the USA, when people are tired of watching TV, they drive around. Supply & demand. Free markets. With inflation in China, the prices of its products will rise for us, too.
Gasoline and propane will go much higher over the next year and a half. Eventually, most employees at every level of government will be laid off. Well get better leadership and smaller government out of the deal.
Maybe well see nuclear exchanges. Globalism is about to die. So is political correctness. Regulations wont be as enforceable. The neighborhood hens will become quieter (see lack of enforcement, public school employees unemployed, dead HOAs, etc.). Now theres some good news. ;-)
I’m not holding my breath on this, but it sounds great.

Thank you for this thread, I'm mad as hell that it took $45 dollars to fill up my damn pickup truck and it was only 1/2 empty. Gasoline here in Louisiana where I live is $3.00 a gallon for mid grade. That is a double disgrace.
I'm starting to believe that Americans are the most simple minded people on earth!
