Really simple, sport. My job requires me to fly (other modes of transport are either too slow or don't cross oceans well). I don't fly, I don't have a job.
But please, practice as you preach and stay off the planes.
I haven’t been on an airplane since 2002. I do.
You are SO fortunate, believe me!!
We've had some new positions open up in our office. I've considered applying for one -- it would mean throwing away everything I've done for many years and leaving a position created explicitly for me, but it would also mean staying off airplanes.
I flew once for vacation since 9/11 (last year to a convention; TSA took some of my FOOD) and once for business (this year for a job interview @ different branch of same company I'm at; I solved food issue by scheduling flight so I had already eaten).
3 months ago, I drove cross country to work at another branch of my company and am taking train when visiting family back home.
I will not set foot on an airplane due to the new security ‘rules’; I refuse to show my (virtual) unclothed body to anybody except my spouse, and refuse to allow anybody to touch me in the way they are doing now; that type of touching is reserved for my spouse ONLY. PERIOD.
