If I remember correctly, in 1999 when Chicago had one of its biggest blizzards ever, Mayor Richard M. Daley immediately ordered all snowfighting forces into action like 18 hours before the storm hit. As such, the city's main streets were completely plowed clean just four days after that gigantic storm, not the three weeks from the 1979 storm that essentially shut down the city for nearly a month.

Bloomberg looked pissed the entire time before and after the storm. It’s probably because he wasn’t able to spend Christmas week in the Caribbean with his ruling class friends.
