Two of the nation's premier moral issues organizations, the Family Research Council and Concerned Women for America, are refusing to attend the Conservative Political Action Conference in February because a homosexual activist group, GOProud, has been invited.
"We've been very involved in CPAC for over a decade and have managed a couple of popular sessions. However, we will no longer be involved with CPAC because of the organization's financial mismanagement and movement away from conservative principles," said Tom McClusky, senior vice president for FRC Action.

I think we FReepers should start forming local Freedom Clubs all over the country. I think it would make a great force if we stayed out of their organizations since they NEED our votes.
I’d put up a $100 to help get one off the ground locally. Of course, I might not have that money next week. lol.

I agree!!! Let them wither on the vine and see how much $ they get and attendees when they're 100% RINO and pro-fag.
CPAC, Libertarians And Ron Paul - What A Conservative Isn’t...

I agree that it absolutely needs to be something grassroots on the local level and work our way up. On the same pattern as the Tea Party. Take over local and state governments.
Yup. Starve the beast!
Check your local Craig's List and Meetup - there probably already is one. One of the founders of our local one had never even voted, IIRC, but she'd had enough.
Those who have been following the news know that David Keene of CPAC/ACU/NRA has been deeply involved in corruption and bribery for some years now. It is not primarily about homosexuality.
Great news IMHO, more conservatives should leave GOPAC and let GOPROUD pound sand or whatever.
Sorry guys meant CPAC no GOPAC.
They just want a bigger tent.....in their pants.
Sometimes, you stay and fight a fire. Other times, the house is burning down and collapsing on your head and it’s better to get out of there and build a new house.
You were right the first time. They have embraced GOProud.
Keene gave Specter (now a key Democrat) $2,000 as late as the 2008 election cycle.
managing associate at the Carmen Group Lobbying, a lobbying firm based in Washington, D.C. In December 2007, Keene endorsed Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign
adviser to Senator Robert Dole’s 1988 and 1996 presidential campaigns
Keene, who lives in Alexandria, Virginia, writes a regular column for The Hill
He also serves as a lobbyist with The Carmen Group, a governmental affairs and legislative relations firm based in Washington, DC.
This is a sad day! Why is there a homosexual group to begin with? This big tent stuff is outragous! What ever happens between 2 consenting adults in a bedroom is a personal matter. Why does the GOP need to promote a homosexual choice??? The big tent should be conservative values and if you don’t agree, then don’t show up to CPAC.

Washington Insider David Keene Disses Governor Palin, Claims to Speak for Grassroots
Ramesh Ponnuru noted in National Review that Keene, inexplicably, supported Specter in his primary contest with real grassroots conservative Pat Toomey in 2004. Toomey had the full support of the conservative base in 2004 (as he does now) yet Keene supported Specter. David Keene is chairman of the American Conservative Union (ACU), an organization which, among other things, rates public officials on how conservative they are. In 2004, Specter received an ACU rating of 47. Toomeys rating? 97.
In the last three years CPAC has devolved into nothing more than an annual love fest for the most established of establishment Republicans, Mitt Romney. It should come as no surprise that David Keene supported Mitt Romney in 2008. However, Im sure that Romneys three consecutive victories in the CPAC straw polls is entirely coincidental. After all, the conservative base loves Romney, right? Readers may recall that Keene’s CPAC invited Governor Palin to speak in February, then falsely claimed she backed out when she had never agreed to attend in the first place.
David Keene, of course, has a history of Palin Derangement Syndrome (PDS). In July, Mitt Romney sycophant Ron Kessler interviewed fellow Romney supporter David Keene in an article for Newsmax. The general thrust of the article is that Governor Palin is not ready to run for president because, well, because shes not Mitt Romney. Keene cited all the usual discredited talking points made by liberals and Republican elites to back up his assertion.
John Ziegler, famously, attempted to question Keene about his irrational hatred of Governor Palin at the Western CPAC conference (WCPAC) a couple weeks ago. Keene became agitated, peppering Ziegler with profanity and even threatening violence during the interview. You can read more about Keenes bizarre behavior in a post by Tommy Report, which includes video of Keenes encounter with Ziegler.
The notion that ultimate Washington insider David Keene considers himself a voice of the grassroots is delusional. I doubt more than a handful of those hard-working volunteers on the ground in NY-23 are even aware of the long time Washington lobbyist.
FistPAC might be a better descriptor of the eaters of fecal matter. Or maybe, rimPAC, or felchPAC. All describe acts that don’t generally appear on the Will and Grace show.
How can you be a conservative republican while at the same time promoting homosexual sex premised rights, benefits and societal recognition ALL paid for against the will of the people in individual states and communities?
YOU CAN NOT!
IF CPAC does not eradicate the leftists within it THEN -they may as well just just stick a fork in it -it's done -just as sure as Romney is a spineless RINO devoid of moral foundation -the white empty suit...
This is actually good news. We are getting down to our fighting weight.
Cut out the infil-traitors. A pro homosexuality platform isn’t, nor can it ever be part of conservatism.
A little more organied than the TEA Party and one that does not ally itself with the GOP. Make the GOP actually deserve our support.
