Former U.S. Ambassador to the UN John Bolton appeared with Tucker Carlson last night on Hannity to discuss his strong disapproval of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START). Bolton believed the ripple effects of the treaty would cost America for years to come and Tucker even described alleged liberal rationale for the treaty as grotesque.
The START treaty, if ultimately ratified by the Russian parliament, would require the drawing down of nuclear warheads of both the U.S. and Russia over the next seven years from current levels of 2,200 each to 1,550. Tucker was first annoyed that Obama rushed the treaty through the lame duck Senate, when in fact the hurry was unnecessary since Russia will not vote on it until the end of January. Bolted explained it was politically vital for Obama because the new batch of Republicans arriving in January never would have approved it.
More significantly, Tucker was confused by the basic theory behind the treaty:
Carlson: Why does it make the world a safer place when the U.S. gets rid of its own nuclear weapons? Isnt a strong, well-armed America the key to harmony in this world?
Bolton: Of course it is, but not in the ideology of the Obama administration. They really believe that its Americas nuclear capability thats the problem, not the source of strategic stability.

Who the Hell appointed that bow-tied bum-kisser Tucker Carlson as a a “conservative” spokesman?
John Bolton is a real American and a true Conservative.
I see a series of linear motors in the future ~ each better than the other ~ and able to take out any missile anytime anywhere in our end of the solar system.
What's not to like about that.
I happened to catch this interview last night and it was superb. He laid it all out. And made me very afraid for my country. We were completely punked by the Russians. I pray we have John Bolton for our next Secretary of State.
obama doesn't fundamentally believe in any damned thing that will advance this country.
obama is a treasonous POS that is being manipulated by outside sources and he does not wish anything whatsoever well for this country.
Wake up people, and see the piece of canine excrement for what he is!
Got to hell, obama.
If we are EVER hit with an ICBM, then any and all of those who forcibly tied our won hands that could have saved thru Missile Defense had best be out of the country...for good.
If that ever does happen, I suspect the good folks in America won’t be communicating their acute displeasure by then via the ballot box.
Its one thing to be anti-nuclear and all of that but its outright a death wish for our citizens to ALSO be anti-defensive weapons that have NOTHING to do with killing people??!! Devoid of logic.
Mind boggling, just stupid that’s all I can say.
“If we are EVER hit”
More like a matter of when.
Of course not. His foreign policy is the polar opposite of the Reagan "Peace through strength" approach.
But I am puzzled why the author seems to go to great pains to make Tucker Carlson look like a dummy. I saw the interview. He was asking questions that were almost rhetorical and giving Bolton an opportunity to hit them out of the park. When that occurs on the liberal side, we call the questions softballs.
Of course if Carlson had challenged Bolton, then I supposed someone would call him a "bow-tied bum-kisser." (Oh wait, I think someone already did that.)
This used to be called what it is: disarmament.
But the lefties just manipulate the language and all the idiot politicians follow suit.
O comes out of a communist milieu, he was always surrounded by communists and communist agents; he is probably one himself.
For certain, he is someone’s front man. We keep trying to analyze his actions as president but he is a place-holder. His personal ideology is no doubt in line with his actions and policies but he is a puppet. Noticing who he rolls over for tells you more about who pulls his strings than it does about him. He is a genuine fake.
If you go back to one of the very few documents actually attributed to young Baraq, it’s an article written for the Columbia U magazine in the early 80s.
It’s obvious that his views haven’t changed much.
Yea, Carlson is an OK kind of guy I sometimes enjoy. He, Maddow, and Jay Severin on the show they did several years ago was so bad I couldn't take it. I just wanted Jay to call Maddow what she is, a Dike, and a liberal one at that and get the hostilities over with. We all know about the concept of sexual tension in the workplace or church or wherever, but Severin with Maddow the tension was not sexual, perhaps in part, but was so intense nothing other than a fight of words may have sufficed. Jay left (or was fired) before it came to blows.
I’ll just never get why liberals think that a missile defense is ‘provocative’ to nuclear armed countries. Do they think that locked doors are provocative to burglars? Maybe police should not carry guns because that’s provocative to criminals?
Geez, I hate these people.
Yes, and the next President of the US.
“Yes, and the next President of the US.”
He is exactly what this country needs.
John Bolton exposed himself as a complete fraud when he made himself an ardent cheerleader for the Clinton administration’s disgraceful military campaign in Serbia/Kosovo back in the late 1990s.
. John Bolton, former U.S. assistant secretary of state for international organizations, says, “It is a big mistake for us to grant any validity to international law even when it may seem in our short-term interest to do so — because, over the long term, the goal of those who think that international law really means anything are those who want to constrict the United States. We ought to be concerned about this so-called right of humanitarian intervention — a right of intervention that is just a gleam in one beholder’s eye but looks like flat-out aggression to somebody else. What we did was bomb innocent civilian Serbs into the ground in order that the Albanians can come back and ethnically cleanse the Serbs’ relatives out of what’s left of Kosovo.” (italics.ed)

John Bolton has his enemies here at FR. If you try to find pout why, either you get no response or some BS lie. These are the people that vote for guys like Bush, Dole and McCain.
Heh...heh...as a partial lurker...I kinda noticed that...
It’s shocking some rubes have the nerve to disagree with you, eh Cisco?
“Its shocking some rubes have the nerve to disagree with you, eh Cisco?”
Why would you say something like that? Everyone is entitled to an opinion? I’m not right all the time. I’m here to learn from others. I’m so sorry you are shocked. Anything I can do to help you out?
Personally, I would have stayed out of it. Aiding the Muslims to the extent we did was a mistake: also my opinion and Bolton's.
If that is the extent of your displeasure for John Bolton then you have a very weak case. There is something that can be dug up on everyone running that can be twisted and spun. Legitimate mistakes also. Reagan have several. You do not like John Bolton, fine....but don't spin lies about the man without all the facts.
