Do we stand for nothing?
Using the Republican party name (Republican) should have it’s price. A little loyalty to the platform and principles is NOT to much to ask when you run as a Republican, and it’s really the only thing that keeps us as a party. Blatant betrayal, as in the Snow/Collins, et.al., must mean removal from office.
Yes, it’s a risk, but their replacement will know why he or she won, and will have seen why the Collins/Snow types LOST.
We need to take the best that we can get while winning (so we get committee votes to control agenda). What's the best depends on each state. In Maine, so far it's Collins. In Massachusetts, it's Browne. Whoever wins there needs a ton of independent voters.
Were you at the Convention when WE passed our “new” platform? (actually sort of a RESTORED Republican / Constitutional platform)?
Did you get a look at Snowe’s face when the place exploded for Paul LePage and her “anointed” primary Candidate for Gov. Steve Abbott got a “ho-hum” reception?
Did you see all the yellow Gadsden flags around the hall? She did.
She may still assume that she owns this State and her party machine, but I suspect that she might have taken a little pause for concern.
IF we can put up a VIABLE Candidate against her, (and alas, I have yet to see one step forward) this might be the year... or so we might hope.
