This is such an important concept that the Blue Blood GOP Ruling Class needs to get into their head. I include, top of the list, Karl Rove...then Krauthammer, the Bushes and so on.
This from one who's been there, done that and now breathe happy air even though my state is represented now by a communist in the Senate.
For Christine O'Donnell primaried Mike Castle outta there. Mike Castle, a guy who vote FOR the Dream Act, AGAINST the Iraqi surge, FOR CapnTrade....the list goes on. And he did this while being Delaware's only Rep in America's House.
Then Castle decides to run for Senate and what? We should REWARD him for peeing upon our feet while telling us it's raining?
Delaware GOP voters said NO.
Now O'Donnell, a controversial candidate but a perfectly nice woman who I know well, admire but they sure cut her to pieces, didn't they? ...But O'Donnell lost because a)the numbers just weren't there for her....I remind that we had another very conservative candidate running to replace Castle in the House, who lost by the exact SAME margin as O'Donnell. This fellow, Glen Urquhart, ran a splendiferous campaign, go on, I bet most of you never heard of him while hearing day and night about that witch O'Donnell. But Urquhart too lost by a large percentage and mostly because, first, the numbers just aren't there.
Castle and Biden both won all these years because there is, in Delaware, a coalition of DEMS and REPUBS, lots of Independents, that get out there and push these candidates. O'Donnell and Urquhart had no such help, even some evil by the Del. GOP Blue Blood Ruling Class Repubs.
Point is, my guys lost.
But I wake up each and every day, stretch and regard the morning sun, and smile that finally, FINALLY, that awful RINO Mike Castle is gone. Sure, we got Coons, he's a communist. But he's the ENEMY that doesn't lie and spit in my face, all the while smiling and telling me to just vote for him one more time, just one more, I promise THIS time I won't betray you.
If ever there was a lesson given by the Tea Party, God Bless, it's that we'd much rather have a DEMOCRAT who calls himself a DEMOCRAT, voting with the libs, than a Republican lying to us through clenched teeth.
They want the majority so they get the best offices, the chairmanships and golly gee, imagine this, the BASE VOTERS could care less about this and don't want to give up their dignity or have their joy sapped for the likes of Castle, et al.
The Blue Blood GOP Ruling Class needs to GET this concept, putting the wildly charismatic Karl Rove at the top of this list.
For surely, if nothing else, Mike Castle was a living lesson that they went too damn far, that the people are only going to take so much. Instead of berating Delaware's base for finally speaking out, Karl Rove ought to give this notion alittle thought.
This announced Tea Party intent makes me smile. Go after the RINOS with all you got. They'll fall, slowly. Got rid of Charlie Crist, got rid of Mike Castle. Still ended up with Murkowski but give it time. They're walkiing on shifting sands and I see it happening.
I whole-heartedly agree! To my mind, some of the old guard Republicans are more dangerous than the most Liberal Democrat because you never know when they’re going to turn or upon whom. Carl Rove was one of the first to trash Christine O’Donnell. She might have made a much better showing if not for being attacked by one of her own.
As for Charles Krauthammer, consider his origins in the political world. “A dog will return to its vomit” every time.
