...and you are justified in calling this man a ‘thug’ based on what? What exactly would be your reaction if while walking your puppy a man came out, started confronting you (my guess is rather impolitely) and then pulled a loaded gun on you? At that juncture, based on these facts, only one man was in mortal danger - the dog walker - he was confronted with a loaded, deadly weapon. He was justified in fending off the old man with nondeadly force and may even have been justified in using deadly force - it was reasonable for him to protect himself with his fists. When he withdrew, it was manifestly unreasonable for the man to then shoot him to death.
Look at the stats I posted about the neighborhood, as well as the pics of the guy trying to be a thug on his Myspace page, and then reassess the judgement on the guy.
Apologize abjectly and yank the puppy away. And get the heck out of there, and then meditate on why it's important to respect private property, followed by thanking God that I was smart enough to figure it out, and do the right thing.
Because me and the puppy, we're out of bounds, on someone else's property.
