Good Grief… Leading RNC Candidate’s Law Firm Supports Obamacare – Says It’s Constitutional

This will go over well with the conservative base… If you thought the fact that RNC Chair candidate, Maria Cino, was an Obamacare lobbyist was outrageous wait until you hear the latest…

The leading candidate in the race – Reince Priebus‘s law firm supports Obamacare and says its constitutional!

Yes, you read that correctly. Reince Priebus’s law firm supports Obamacare and says its constitutional. Unbelievable.

The far left Think Progress website reported this today:

On January 14, 168 standing members of the Republican National Committee (RNC) will hold an election to select the next national chairman of the party. Current RNC Chairman Michael Steele is running for a second term against a number of challengers, including Saul Anuzis, Ann Wagner, Maria Cino, Gentry Collins, and Reince Priebus.

Priebus, the current state chairman of the Wisconsin GOP, is positioning himself as the true conservative alternative to Steele…

Despite his heated anti-Obama attacks, Priebus makes a living at a law firm far more comfortable with the policies of President Obama. Priebus works as a partner at the Milwaukee law firm Michael Best & Friedrich LLP. Over the summer, the firm created a series of presentations to explain health reform to its clients and to pitch the firm’s services for employers looking to comply with new health reform regulations. In one presentation, John Barlament, a colleague to Priebus at the firm, said that a health reform repeal is not only unlikely, but that the lawsuits brought by Republican Party allies to declare the law unconstitutional probably have no merit. Referring to the controversy over the individual mandate, Barlament explained that the commerce clause of the constitution “gives Congress authority to act on his legislation.”

It will be interesting to hear what GOP Leader John Boehner, GOP Whip Eric Cantor and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell have to say about this.

Is this really the person who needs to be leading the RNC for the next two years?

If this is true, it's truly outrageous. Time to man the barricades again, I guess.

If you want to see what all politicians are really like watch the HBO series Boardwalk Empire. They are all just gangsters that dress nicely.

Unfortunately for us, I believe you are 100% correct.

They have truly, truly earned the moniker “The Stupid Party” if they select such a leader.

Boehner and Cantor are not part of the RNC as far as I know. It’s an organization made up of the chairmen of each state party. I early identified this crowd as being MITBOTS. See http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2648505/posts #30.

Like it or not, this could be the impetus that transforms the Tea Party from a loosely-organized grassroots movement, to a legitimate third political entity. The RINO National Committee would be committing suicide by endorsing this crap. Maybe they should, and let them go the way of the Whigs.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

IMHO, gangsters have more ethics and class than the average politician. They probably have better morals as well.

Conservatives have not been brave enough to champion real conservatives. Someone might call us names. So, we haven’t found leaders that can take the heat.

Not only do the politics of this stink, but who is Reince Priebus and how does one pronounce the name?

At least I could say Michael Steele. How do these folks get nominated and who does the voting?

Going back through that thread two days ago I identified several Reinse supporters. Best I can tell that’d include

Shawn Steele,

Iowamark,

Napscoordinator,

milwguy

Soul Seeker,

fieldmarshaldj,

Crichton,

The anti-Steele crowd got some ‘splainin’ to do.

Hotline said 22 RNC members support Reince Priebus, and 6 support Maria Cino

Sounds like Reinse is either a stealth MITBOT or he isn’t at all what he wanted people to believe.

I’d strike him off the list of possible Chairmen.

In my defense (FWIIW) is that we did not know this new story. It is not like we vote for these folks anyway. But as this comes closer to realization on who will be chosen more information on the candidates will be exposed.

It pays to know about Kenosha. Senator Lugar has his main base of support in Indiana from the Germans, Danes and automotive industry heirs.

That's where the big bucks and door knockers come from. Before him Senator Vance Hartke (a Democrat from Evansville) worked the same route.

Before him Governor Harold Schricker was able to be a fusion candidate of both parties ~ and he tapped that support.

Homer Capehart worked with the then new television manufacturing folks ~

When you find the old money supporting a guy he's pret'near UNREMOVABLE.

You want to get rid of Lugar just convince him to retire.
