Maine Democrat Rosa Scarcelli suggested that a decision to challenge Sen. Olympia Snowe in 2012 could hinge on whether the three-term Republican is forced to fend off a primary challenge.
Scarcelli, the CEO of an affordable-housing agency who ran for the Democratic nomination for governor in 2010, is widely seen as a rising star in her party and says she's very interested in running for public office again.
But the 41-year-old also bills herself as a nonpartisan pragmatist who stresses she won't run against Snowe if the senior senator continues to vote as a moderate.
"Olympia Snowe in my mind is a wonderful moderate senator. The issue well have to face is, will she have a primary opponent and what will that mean?" Scarcelli asked, suggesting a GOP opponent could push Snowe to the right. "I think it is important we watch the votes, we watch the primary opponents. I think that our two senators have unique roles in the Senate, and if Olympia has to compromise that, that will be a concern for people.

We might be able to bust the commie’RATS’ bank by making them finance not only ‘RAT campaigns but the RINO campaigns also. I’ll bet we put a pretty good dent in their funds when they had to finance the Ice Princess’ “write in” campaign.
I live on coastal Maine. I am one of the few that have a computer. I know 10 lobsterhunters off the top of my head that do not own a computer. They will not have one in their house. They dropped out of high school and started working on a boat and never want anything else. They get their political knowledge from their wives who watch oprah. These are smart men who risk their lives every day, but they will refuse to learn anything about politics that is not what their daddy said.

The word moderate does not come to mind when thinking of these two skanks. Traitor does come to mind.
Welcome to the party Rosa, Snowe will have a primary challenger if she keeps voting Bolshie.
The Politico story, taken from the point of view of the liberal, advances a strategic threat, code if you will, for dems to help out the Maine twins in the Republican primary.
What else do democrats have after all, but to use their most productive tool—infiltration. We’ve given them a free ride to run every prized institution in the land, even turned our children over to them in public schools. Still, you can’t find even the public schools, the universities and academia anywhere on the agenda of a single Republican holding any office, running for office, anywhere. It’s just too hard isn’t it? Hard to say we don’t deserve everything we’re getting, with more on the way, via our public schools.
They stink like all RINOs do. Two whores that have been bought many times.
I would like to agree with you, but after talking to them myself I can not. They are playing power politics. Snowe pulled this crap before Collins showed up. They call each other and use their 2 votes to obtain power. It is what they do. if you look at their history of votes they only differ on the little stuff, but when it comes to power votes they are WHORES. Nothing more. Every time. The republican party should have thrown them out a long time ago.
I wonder why Snowe and Collins haven’t had a primary challenger already. We need a true conservative to represent Maine.
You mean they are not traitors to the Republican party? I would say they are.
I hope they ( and their wives ) don’t vote . Sheeesh !
Their bad votes are much easier to see when they’re helping Obama and the Democrats pass laws we don’t want. Bush was the President for the 8 years before that.
T’ame t’ing in Bangor, FRiend.
Unfortunately, this could happen. Maine is not Maine anymore. It has lost its grit and become a northeastern liberal elite suburb.
I don't blame ObamaCare on Obama (he is what he is), I blame Olympia Snowe (she isn't what she claims)... and so should everybody else blame this woman and hold her accountable .. she could have stopped it!
My campaign money is going to any viable opponent that comes up against her.
First off, we have to ensure that NO money goes from the GOP national for any support in a primary involving either of these two hags.
Next up, those in Maine have to come up with a credible candidate to run and financially support that person. Overcoming an incumbent is difficult, one with the support of the MSM and the other party will be very difficult to dislodge.
IMO, if we get Snowe job out, the other one will either not run when she is due or will change direction. That would be a double win in one election.
Best way to do this is not to send money to the GOP in the first place!
