Maxpedition Bags are by far the best. Yes they are expensive, but well worth it.

I agree about Maxpedition, but this UTG, at about 3/4 the price, is identical in quality, and almost identical in appearance with the Maxpedition. The main difference seems to be the size and shape of the accessory pockets. Some have velcro on them, others have MOLLE loops.

I own both Maxpedition and "brand x" bags, and even the stitching is identical. There are more variations and colors with Maxpedition, and their designs always appear on the market first. Then about six months later, Cheaper than Dirt, Sportsmans Guide and other sites start showing their near-identical bags, also made in Taiwan.

One item of field gear that I recommend highly, and sells for about $14 is a Chinese "clone" of the special magazine carrier for the Beta C-mag. It's about 25% larger, and 200% better made, with real foam padding in the sides. The US magazine, and its Korean-made clone, use exactly the same flimsy nylon construction of Vietnam-era field gear, complete with Alice clips. The chicom pouch comes in several camo patterns, and has both shoulder straps and PALS strips.

It's big and bulky, but it lets you carry things that are also big and bulky. Here's the standard case, along with the Chinese model that can handle odd stuff like eight mags for the FN P90, or eight H&K UMP magazines.

“Seems FEMA is really starting to push this agenda, I wonder what they know?”

I have trouble believing anything from the government. I really don’t think they have our best interests at heart. They will protect themselves and their ‘real’ constituents first.
