She went from being the dirt-poor child of a single mom in 50s Jim Crow Mississippi to being a powerful billionaire, and she did it on the free market. She was a run-of-the-mill TV hostess before she took over a failing talk show in Chicago, and pushed it to become the most popular daytime talk show on the air. And then she wildly exploited that to her financial gain.
I’m not going to begrudge her the success she earned even if I like nothing else about her.
