John Roberts, formerly known as J.D. Roberts. Ex video jockey and major stoner from Canada`s Muchmusic music video channel during the 1980s.

All pics of him clad in ripped denim and leather with extremely red blood shot eyes and mega mullets have all but disappeared off the internet.

Extreme Totalitarian leftist.

I think you are missing the bigger point. FOX News still has a more conservative bent than any cable or network news outlet, so the more that middle-of-the-road people are attracted to FOX, the better for the conservative movement. The fair-and-balanced approach still means that viewers are getting two sides to every issue, which is not true of any other network or cable news outlet.

It also means that a market is further developing for a cable news outlet more conservative than FOX.

The more that the center of gravity is pulled to the right, the better.

See, Fox made it's mark by cutting a middle-of-the-road path, occasionally going to the right.

So, clearly, the way to continue that success is to lurch wildly to the left.

THAT makes ALL the sense in the world.

I completely agree. I hope someone starts a true conservative news network, not beholden to libs, socialists, social activists or nutbuckets.

Fox News is not presenting a conservative side to anything. They report on press releases from the ruling class.

The difference with Fox News is that they don’t hate America.

The only thing they’re trying to balance at Fox, is their check book...I guess that’s fair though.

By that measure, Ailes has been a rip-roaring success. If you speak his name to most any liberal, they go into slobbering fits nearly as bad as when you say 'Sarah Palin.' to them.

Thank you! It amazes me how many people don’t get that.

Can you imagine a totally skewed to right news channel? It would get old very quick. People have gone to Fox in droves because they AREN’T being spoon fed dogma. If they were just the mirror image of the left news channels nobody would watch them either.

Do you, by any chance, have a background in journalism?

Huh?

It seems that Fox News was doing quite well in the ratings against all liberal cable newscasts COMBINED! Quite obviously, people were voting with their remotes for the fair and balanced Fox. So why would Roger Ailes dart to the left when people have already responded positively to Fox's broadcasts? This makes absolutely no sense.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Oh, one other thing. You can have all the "middle-of-the-road people and shove them. They are spineless, wishy-washy types who have no core beliefs. You will never win them over since they lack a moral compass.

My first experience with John Roberts was as “JD Roberts”, a fill-in disk jockey on CHUM-AM Radio in Toronto in the late ‘70’s. He followed that by going on CITY TV as a news reporter before moving to CBS in the late ‘80’s.

If he is coming from CNN, there is plenty of reason for skepticism about what he might bring to FNC.
