What part of “officer and a gentleman” did he miss? I’m shocked that an O-6 would do this.
I am guessing "gentleman."
Hey, I am currently not even playing my bagpipes.
I guess I know a couple Admirals that would have never made rank beyond Commander in today Navy.
What exactly shocked you? I watched the whole video and was not shocked at all. I saw nothing except humor. Of course, spending a total of 2 1/2 years underwater in a submarine going 4 knots to nowhere during the cold war probably 'taints' somewhat my perspective... The new homosexual sex navy will probably be so much better -so much more MORAL and unshocking...
Hey GABBY, this CO is a hero to me and every sailor on board his ship. If the military can’t ask a person’s sexuality, they can’t tell me not to like it. GAB, I can pretty much guess you didn’t serve you country in a forward area. Everyone has their right to free speech, why do you think theses heroes are serving their country?????
You apparently haven’t become a shell back or a blue nose.
I don’t know the man involved or his effectiveness as an officer. And I realize that this is part of an ongoing effort to neuter our military. But I don’t want the captain of one of the largest warships in the world to be slumming for popularity points with the crew. I want him to command respect. And this is coming from a guy who hated to salute.
The videos were stupid. Maybe they wouldn’t have mattered in a different era, but this guy made it to O-6 in the modern Navy. He should have realized what he was doing.
This is silly. Videos about personal hygiene, rules and regulations, medical concerns, etc., were turned into short vignettes that were NEVER inappropriate. The military has long used “close quarters” humor to make a point.
“Sleeping on top of one another” has to be joked about just to break the discomfort associated with the reality of being packed in like sardines. You pack a 1000+ people onto a football field and see if humor doesn’t become an ally.
That’s all this guy was doing.
These are NOT “Hustler videos” and that’s the way they’re being portrayed. Can’t you smell a media hit job when you see it?
This is all about the PC world that follows the repeal of DADT.
I agree. No matter what you think of it the brass would see this as behavior unbecoming a senior officer. Where was his common sense? It’s much more acceptable for a petty officer to have such fun. Hopefully he’ll learn a lesson and get his command back.
What part of morale and blowing off steam did you miss?
