I read that, but that just seems odd. I find it hard to believe a man of his stature would plant incendiary devices in the home of that neighbor and to what end? Would that really make them decide to stop building it? Really? If true that sounds much more like something planted and makes it start to sound like some sort of cover up (which I actually had been leaning away from).

I totally agree. In the absence of any legitimate claim of mental impairment, a high-school trick like smoke bombs does not make sense. He would have had knowledge of (and access to) much more sophisticated methods if he had even decided to do something to their property, which I highly doubt in view of his position.
