If they don’t like the Constitution then they can amend it something that has been done many many times. The importance of the Constitution is that it is supposed to provide an immutable common foundation on which our legal system is to stand. When we allow purposeful misinterpreting or ignoring the Constitution then we are no longer a nation of law but a nation where the whims of men are the law and individual liberty is never safe.

Immutable, fixed rules disempowers elitists.
They derive their power through the arbitrary and unequal application of law.
