That is true, but whenever I have had most of my problems in the past, the “kids” were long gone before any help/law could arrive.

I’m so sorry to hear that. Accidentally is hard enough for all concerned. Some children don’t understand what they’re doing, but some do.

I am not sure what ignorance you would choose to parse, but I will go with the elected representatives since it is harder to find the crime statistics.

In DC there is one black elected Congresswoman (non-voting), one elected black Mayor, 13 elected Council Members of whom 7 are black, and 6 white (2 of whom are also gay), and likely to remain in that configuration after an election to replace the black man who moved from the Council to the Mayor’s office. Thus at the top level there are 9 black elected representatives to 6 white. There are also elected School Board and ANC representatives (like aldermen) who also reflect the majority black makeup of the city. So what is the ignorance you would cure me of if you cared and had the time?

Seeing this also raised my adrenalin. Years ago when I was in my late 40s, a 5’5” female, I was walking through a shopping center. A large male friend was about 30 feet behind me looking in shop windows as we returned to the car so I was not to alarmed when two young black women about 5’7” walked toward me and when passing at one side said, “what would you do if we grabbed your bag?” I said very quitely, Dirty Harry style, “Then you would learn something you really don’t want to know!” They looked a little surprised and just kept on walking. I long ago discovered that the way you walk and hold your body makes a big difference out on the mean streets.

Pepper spray may have worked okay inside a station. You still don’t want to get a whiff of it yourself.

For that reason, pepper foam might be a better option.

This morning I noticed two van loads of police heading into Rosslyn Metro. I’m not sure what is the difference between them and the gang of punks in the story, both are there to intimidate.

If you're carry your trusty S&W 9mm in DC, you're going to jail.

However, I would bet there are more 'armed' people in D.C. than in any other similar-sized city in the U.S.

Ah... that’s right...
The lefty criminal enablers were the ones crying “it was just a screwdriver!”

I take it as highly complimentary to the Amish. The irony being deployed is that the culture of those honest, industrious, family-oriented, hard-working people is the exact opposite of that which spawns these habitually thuggish criminals.

Dude, right on. I see, though, that my pointed explanation in #78 was too close to the unPC truth for the mods. I guess you can refer to "the culture...which spawns these habitually thuggish criminals", but you can't actually NAME that culture.

Well that is disappointing.

I did not see your post, but know that your thoughts are invariably factual, evenhanded and informative.

The “comment deleted” standards are a bit inconsistently applied I believe; I'm approaching an even half dozen comments of mine that have been deleted.

Having said that, I don't envy the mods their jobs. It cannot be an easy task to police a Board, even one overwhelmingly full of intelligent, polite and reasonable conservatives.

I'm not sure what you said, but I can relate that in the past here on FR I've been pleased to have been able to correctly and clearly label the diseased culture being discussed. I would provide examples, but then you might not seen this response. Ha!

Why is it important to allow plain, blunt talk?
The first step to solving a problem is to define it, and not obfuscate its source or causative factors.

Whether it gets deleted or not usually depends on whether someone reports it as abuse or not.

Like I said, I stated the same thing you did, but instead of referencing the culture, I named it.

And, I maintain that it’s not “racist” to do so.
It is indeed “culturist”, and if anyone wants to debate me on whether some cultures are worth condemnation while others are worth lauding, I’ll gladly take up that argument.

“Racism” is the belief that some people groups are genetically superior to others. I never make such an argument. My worldview includes and stems from the belief that we are all decendents of one pair of created humans, and therefore none of us are “less evolved”, ie genetically closer to animals, than others.
