A long, long, long time ago Joyce Meyer had a good message. At some point she turned into a new age guru.

If you let the govt regulate how much money rich preachers can make, it will regulate how much money ALL preachers can make. I am not a fan of Hinn, Meyer, Dollar, et al. But if you let the govt play class warfare, in ANY occupation, it results in less freedom for everyone.
An alternate plan would be for individual donors to regulate for themselves how much money they give to ministries. And if you find a preacher to be a charlatan, then expose him for all to see. His donor base will dry up real fast. And if it doesn't, the fools who give to him and their money, will soon be parted.

I always got a kick out of the way Benny Hinn would smack around that little old bald guy on his show. Oh.....wait a minute....that was Benny Hill, not Benny Hinn. Nevermind.
