I don’t think its particularly creepy. Its a fight. They knew what they were getting into when they signed-up.

It sort of looks like Rugby without the ref or the ball.

Those used to happen here — they were called brawls.

Reminds me of a few keg parties from years gone by -
as for a comparison to MMA, give me a break.

I have seen the same thing. Back in the 1960’s the redneck cowboys and the military men would fight. Same thing...after about two minutes and some real good punching and kicking, the fight would die down and then with all exhausted, the thing would end. Sometimes it was the athletes against the cowboys, sometimes airmen against athletes, airmen against the soldiers, and sometimes just a real donnybrook. No one pulled a knife, no one pulled a gun and most of the time the thing ended with all drinking together.

The way our society is going, I wouldn’t be surprised to see real gladiators on TV before I die. Swords, nets, tridents, the works. (But probably no animal involvement — people would protest that.)

Yep, been there, done that as you have described. Even donated a tooth and a few broken hand bones and a few fat lips..... then “we” all would have a beer or three and call it a night.

You should see what happens when the Royal Navy makes a port call in Austrailia, this was nothing.....

I doubt any animals would sign-up for it anyway, just people.

No weapons, there seemed to be some kind of referee. Compare that to urban youth here.

So what is it? The Russian equivalent of The Society for Creative Anachronism?

Not sure I get it—I thought it was shirts vs skins...but it looked like a free for all for the most part.

Creepy, perhaps. And yet interesting to compare what would happen in this nation if something similar were to happen. When the free west is less from than Socialist Europe and Communist Russia, something is wrong. As long as everyone was there willingly ... let’s call the feds in to regulate it.

Just a few observations. While it would be interesting to know what was being said, the brawl looked to be somewhat organized. The combatants were wearing some form of boxing gloves, shirts were duking it out with other shirts & skins were fighting skins & everybody was fighting everyone else except for a few people who were behaving like referees. Also note, the spectators and cameraman were not set upon.

About the only thing that I would consider over the top is kicks to the head, which the referee types apparently had no problem with.
