Personally I support such research: a few billion in this, space, medicine etc can easily pay itself with one invention. Sure beats building bridges to nowhere

What's the point of having a Department of Energy when this country is not allowed to use it's own natural resources ?

Should not the Department of Energy have the responsibility of developing those natural resources so we can have energy to heat our homes, drive our cars, and have a healthy economy ?
