Slain man found castrated at Times Square hotel

NEW YORK — Police say a 65-year-old man from Portugal who was found dead in his swank Manhattan hotel room was castrated and beaten.
Police say the body was discovered nude by hotel staff after a worried friend went to check on the victim at the InterContinental New York Times Square hotel.
Police are looking to speak to the victim's acquaintance. The two checked in to the hotel together on Dec. 29th. The victim was discovered Friday evening around 7 p.m. inside of room 3416. Police say he suffered serious head trauma. The medical examiner's office will determine a cause of death.
