A row has broken out after the former home secretary Jack Straw said some British Pakistani men regard white girls as "easy meat" for sexual abuse.
The Blackburn MP spoke out after two Asian men who raped and sexually assaulted girls in Derby were given indefinite jail terms.
Straw said there was a "specific problem" in some areas of the country where Pakistani men "target vulnerable young white girls".
His comments were criticised by Keith Vaz, chairman of the Commons home affairs select committee, who said it was wrong to "stereotype a whole community".
Yesterday Mohammed Liaqat, 28, and Abid Saddique, 27, were jailed at Nottingham crown court after being found guilty at a trial in November of charges including rape.
The judge in the case said he did not believe the crimes were "racially aggravated", adding that the race of the victims and their abusers was "coincidental".
Speaking on the BBC's Newsnight programme yesterday, Straw said: "Pakistanis, let's be clear, are not the only people who commit sexual offences, and overwhelmingly the sex offenders' wings of prisons are full of white sex offenders.
"But there is a specific problem which involves Pakistani heritage men ... who target vulnerable young white girls.
"We need to get the Pakistani community to think much more clearly about why this is going on and to be more open about the problems that are leading to a number of Pakistani heritage men thinking it is OK to target white girls in this way."

Good for Jack Straw. Has to do with the way Islam views women — bag them up, beat them if they are out of line, kill them if they date Westerners. And rape them if you can.
Western Civ/ Christian world view elevates women, values the family unit as a way to protect women and children, channels testosterone into creating and building community.
They are mutually exclusive worldviews.
Of course, people like Samuel Colt and John Browning came up with a very effective way of resolving this imbalance years ago, but such solutions will never see the light of day in the UK.
If Pakistani men think its OK to rape white women...the Brits have a major problem. Its time to stop pandering to Muslims.

Seriesly. Fully half of all registered marriages in Pakistan are between first cousins, and this practice is widespread across all Dar al Islam and has been going on for hundreds of years. It's a "cultural thing" of the ROP, and does not speak well to the hope of "getting along" with them, as they may well be profoundly genetically damaged and prone to madness and disease. Keep your daughters far away from Muslims.

Heh. Try telling that to organizations like NOW. According to them, we're the absolute worst in the world when it comes to women's rights, but they rarely if ever say a peep about muslim societies.

In my two years of residing in Baghdad, I became familiar with several Iraqis. Most of the men bragged how their uncles paid for their weddings. When I asked why did they do that, they replied because I married his daughter. BTW, the Iraqi male is very frail. Cry at the drop of a hat. Their pain threshold is lower than a 4 year old child. Very quick to anger or agitate, yet quick to smile and please.
