Everyone knows that slavery continues in the Arab/Muslim world and that indeed official laws against slavery, however meaningless, are themselves quite a recent development:
1952 Qatar abolishes slavery; 1960 Niger abolishes slavery; 1962 Saudi Arabia abolishes slavery; 1962 Yemen abolishes slavery; 1963 United Arab Emirates abolishes slavery; 1970 Oman abolishes slavery; 1981 Mauritania abolishes slavery

Those are all lies too. If they had said "outlawed" instead of "abolished" it would be more accurate. But outlawing it didn't make it disappear in those countries any more than alcohol prohibition in the U.S. made liquor vanish. Slavery is still widespread in those countries, to varying degrees.
