I’m not a fan of Obama. The killer was a left wing nut. The policies regarding handgun purchasing and background checks were in place long before he was president. The guy filled out the paperwork, it was sent in, he was cleared to buy the gun because he had no wants/warrants/domestic violence actions against him. Just saying.
Sorry, your belief is not based in fact. In AZ, with a CWP, there is no need for a NICS check. It has been clearly established Loughner had no CWP, did fill out a 4473 for a NICS check which came back approved. Only one check, either a CWP or NICS, not 4 or 5.
I wanna know what his criminal records expungement is all about and why. Also who had anything to do with it. Maybe that birdbrain sheriff has a hand in this. After all his mom works for the local government and the sheriff seems to know everyone in town. Hmmm? My curiosity grows. Would he have been able to pass if his background was not being suppressed by local liberal crony law enforcement?

That said, no, it isn’t Obama’s fault that this loon passed an FBI background check. Nor is this the FBI’s fault — unless and until it is shown that there was known info on this loon’s “background” that was required by law to be reported to the FBI and was so reported, and which, thus, should then have resulted in this loon’s disqualification.
No one here wants the government to have unlimited power to decide someone is just too weird to own a gun. There are processes in place and, so long as they were followed, that is that.
They were liberal democrats. Unarmed wards of the state. If he would of tried that at a Republican meeting in Arizona half the crowd would of pulled out Colt 45’s and riddled him on the spot.
Ok, where I was coming from is: Here in WA we have local and state checks (for reasons stated). Then the federal ones. I know there’s a waiting period for buying a handgun if you don’t have a CWP. So in his case all he had to do was fill out a 4473, wait, and if nothing is said he gets the gun.

She was pro-gun but obviously too naive to take precautions to protect herself. But you are right, someone in that crowd should have been armed other than the lefty punk.
so with the 20,000+ guns laws out there and the fbi having to give people permission to own a gun (so much for ‘shall not be infringed’)... they can’t spot an obvious nutjob when presented?
my guess, the ‘background check’ is really just looking for police records and not really doing a background check. hell, within an hour of the name released, freepers had this guys web personality pegged (myspace). the favorite books along should send up red flags.
yet the fbi couldn’t figure this out. brilliant. i’ve so glad 50% of my income goes to pay for these people
(i’d stop paying for bad food and bad service... why can’t i stop paying for bad government?)
