I've been to many political events such as those involving direct contact with my representatives. The local and state cops were always within ten feet of the politician and the public within that zone of meet-n-greet.

Where was the local and state police force in this mayhem gone bad? Why were they not close by? Were there local cops who were being paid for security or crowd control?

Damn good question. Congressmen in our district always got plainclothes body guards from the sheriff. maybe that is why the sheriff is so upset in this particular instance.

or maybe it is because he knew the guy had mental problems because of past complaints and he told people who were afraid of the kid that mental health was taking care of it???
